• Provided project support to determine capacity requirements and provided ongoing support to provision server resources.
• Used NIM to complete system installation, perform MKSYSB restores, and apply patches.
• Installed, configured and migrated servers to PowerVM from Power 5.
• Installed and configured Symantec Storage Foundation and migrated all AIX servers to use EMC VMAX storage.
• Followed ITIL standards to provide efficient operational services and facilitate better management of the infrastructure that supports the delivery of services. Received manager’s recognition for consistently following ITIL standards.
• Designed various internal team websites to drive gains in data tracking, accuracy, and workgroup efficiency.
• Supported and maintained AIX PowerVM, Power 5, Power 6, and Power 7 Systems at recommended IBM security standards (400+ servers across 4 server environments – dev, qa, p-stage, production).
• Supported and maintained Windows 2003 Server and VMWare environments. (500+ Windows servers).
• Utilized Veritas Cluster Service (VCS) Console to manage high availability clusters to improve application availability and eliminate points of application failure.
• Participated in 24×7 on-call rotation to support problem determination and resolution for systems.
• Managed the retirement of all servers no longer needed in the environment to reduce hardware maintenance costs.
